This project had exposed wood framing on the first floor, which allowed us to achieve a larger room feel to the first floor, and the second floor was vaulted in each of the bedrooms and bathroom, allowing the 800 SF space to feel much larger. The existing ADU code at the time created a height restriction, but even with these challenges we were able to find ways to make the space feel much larger.
The ADU site was on a raised lot, and to offset this look, we created a recycled rock retaining wall with stairs that went up to the level of the ADU. There was enough room on the site for us to build both a front porch and side patio.
The siding of this ADU was dictated by the design review for the Neighborhood. We have used our Sister Company, MJP Property Management for this property and were able to rent this ADU within the first week for $1,595/Month.Specs
