Description

This Corner lot in the Woodstock Neighborhood backs into an alley which allowed NWV to build right to the back property line. We were able to build in storage for the ADU and for the use of the main house. We were able to do concrete finished flooring, natural wood doors and exterior sleek contemporary design.

The home owner had been working on their ADU vision for a couple years and reviewed different design options. We connected through a previous ADU client and we were able to value engineer and to pair their vision with a manageable budget. The home owners are looking to have family stay with them throughout the year and use it as a short term rental while family is not visiting. The home owner collaborated on some of the build with our team, which they did to save on costs.

Description

Energy-efficient/eco-friendly features:

The integration of storage on one side of the ADU, along with utilizing its outer wall as part of the home, resulted in an impressive energy rating. A 3″ rigid foam insulation around the slab foundation, concealed by custom fabricated metal matching the home’s color, further enhanced energy efficiency and aesthetics.

Pet-friendly features

The front of the home was creatively utilized to accommodate a pet run and outdoor area, complementing the BOHO Southwestern Vibe chosen by the owners. The fence design carefully balanced the need for privacy from sidewalk traffic while allowing ample southern exposure. It offers an ideal space for leisurely moments and playful interactions with furry companions.

Smart home or technology features:

There are WIFI-enabled smart locks on all ADU doors, enabling automation for the property owners. This implementation allows for seamless control and remote access to the ADU’s locking system, providing convenient and advanced features for the owners.
